This 2006 Mini Cooper S John Cooper Works GP is one of 2,000 examples produced during a single-year production run and was delivered new to Mini of Saint Louis, Missouri. The car is finished Thunder Blue Metallic over two-tone black and gray and is powered by a supercharged 1.6-liter inline-four mated to a six-speed manual transaxle with a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes an aerodynamic body kit with a carbon-fiber rear wing, a sport exhaust system, 18″ wheels, heated seats, air conditioning, an Alpine stereo, and a rear strut-tower brace. The car was acquired by the seller in June 2021, and servicing in the past year is said to have included replacing the power steering pump, spark plugs, and tires.
The car is finished in GP-specific Thunder Blue Metallic and features a silver roof and red mirror caps. Equipment includes revised bumper covers, side sill extensions, a carbon-fiber rear wing, a hood scoop, and central dual exhaust outlets. A decal on the roof identifies this car as #1,491 of 2000 produced.
Factory 18″ GP Design wheels wear 205/40 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ tires that show date codes from 2018 and 2019. Compared with standard Mini Cooper S models, the GP was equipped with larger diameter brakes and revised suspension with John Cooper Works shock absorbers.
The cabin features heated sport seats upholstered in black leather with red stitching and Checkmate cloth inserts. The GP model featured a chassis brace in place of the rear seat, and additional equipment includes air conditioning, cruise control, and an Alpine stereo.
The dashboard features silver trim and houses a central 150-mph speedometer with integrated gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The multi-function steering wheel is leather-wrapped and frames a tachometer with a 7k-rpm redline. The digital odometer shows 88k miles.
The supercharged 1.6-liter inline-four features a John Cooper Works intake and exhaust and produced 214 horsepower when new. Work carried out within the last year is said to have included replacing the power steering pump and spark plugs.
Power is sent to the front wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle with a limited-slip differential.
