This 2003 Mini Cooper S is powered by a supercharged 1.6-liter inline-four fitted with a John Cooper Works tuning kit and paired with a six-speed manual transaxle. The body is finished in British Racing Green Metallic and features a contrasting white roof and mirrors, a Works emblem on the rear hatch, a panoramic sunroof, xenon headlights with washers, front and retrofitted rear foglights, heated side mirrors and washer jets, rain-sensing wipers, a hood scoop, a rear spoiler, and twin central exhaust tips. The Carfax report notes “minor damage” to the front end that occurred in 2018. The seller states the front bumper cover was refinished and the surrounding plastic trim was replaced under current ownership. Paint-protection film is said to have subsequently been installed aft of the A-pillar, and the windows have been tinted. An Opti-Coat ceramic coating was reportedly applied twice by the seller.
Multi-piece 17″ alloy wheels installed under previous ownership wear JCW-branded center caps and are mounted with 205/45 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires with 2017 date codes reportedly installed at 20k miles. Dealer-installed John Cooper Works components include upgraded brakes, a suspension kit, front and rear springs, and a strut tower brace. The power steering pump was replaced in 2016 in response to a recall, and the front control arm bushings were replaced in September 2021.
The cabin is trimmed in Panther Black leather with matching door panels and carpets along with silver trim on the dash, center stack, and doors. The car is equipped with the Premium, Sport, and Cold Weather packages, and amenities include heated front seats, park distance control, a Harman Kardon stereo system with a CD player, automatic climate control, cruise control, metal-trimmed pedal covers, all-weather floor mats, and power windows, mirrors, and door locks.
A leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel frames a column-mounted tachometer, while a 150-mph speedometer is centrally-mounted in the dashboard. The digital odometer has 28k miles.
The supercharged and intercooled 1.6-liter inline-four sends power to the front wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox. The engine was fitted with a John Cooper Works tuning kit by Dreyer & Reinbold BMW Mini of Indianapolis in September 2003 that included a modified ECU map, a cat-back exhaust, and an intercooler cover along with an upgraded cylinder head, supercharger, fuel injectors, spark plugs, and air intake. A redesigned airbox, Milltek exhaust headers, and later-model fuel injectors were installed under previous ownership. Service performed in preparation for the sale included replacing the lower engine torque mount, the oil filter stand gasket, and the oil cooler gaskets.
Two remote keyless-entry keys are included in the sale along with manufacturer’s literature, a build sheet, a John Cooper Works tuning kit certificate of authenticity signed by John Cooper’s son, service records, and a Bentley repair manual.
