This 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 was built on November 7, 1968 and originally delivered to the Ford Motor Company Product Engineering and Foundry in Dearborn, Michigan. It is finished in blue over a black interior, and power is supplied by a 428ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission and a Traction-Lok rear axle. Equipment includes a shaker hood, power steering and brakes, a Rim Blow steering wheel, front and rear spoilers, rear window louvers, and 14″ GT-style wheels. The car was reportedly refurbished about three decades ago, and recent recommissioning following several years of storage included a rebuilt carburetor, a tune-up, and a replacement battery, fuel tank, and ignition wires.
Finished from the factory in Acapuloco Blue (65), the body was reportedly repainted about 30 years ago and features a blacked-out shaker hood as well as gold Mach 1 side and rear stripes. Additional exterior features include front and rear spoilers, hood pins, body-color side mirrors, tinted glass, quarter panel scoops, and rear window louvers.
Chrome 14″ GT-style wheels are mounted with 205/70 front and 225/70 rear Goodyear Eagle GT tires. Factory equipment included power-assisted steering and front disc brakes.
The cabin features high-back bucket seats trimmed in black vinyl with a matching rear bench, carpeting, and door panels. Faux-woodgrain trim adorns the Rim Blow steering wheel, dash, and center console, and additional interior features include a push-button radio, an analog clock, rubber floor mats, and lap belts for all occupants.
Instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer and an 8k-rpm tachometer. The five-digit odometer shows 38k miles, though total mileage is unknown.
The car came from the factory with a 428ci Cobra Jet V8, which was originally rated at 335 horsepower and 440 lb-ft of torque. Recent work is said to include a rebuilt carburetor, a tune-up, and a replacement battery, fuel tank, distributor cap, and ignition wires.
Power is transferred to the rear wheels through a three-speed C-6 automatic transmission and a Traction-Lok rear end with 3.50:1 gearing.
